1930s Argson 98cc Villiers Vintage Tricycle | Cyclecar Project.

An interesting, original-condition 1930s Argson tricycle, powered by a rear-mounted 98cc Villiers two-stroke engine and a two-speed gearbox and a great basis to convert to a fun cyclecar type machine and vintage paddock transport.

It sits on 2.75 x 19-inch rear wheels with a smaller front wheel, which is currently steered via a left-hand driver's crank lever and I'm still to work out how to start it without a push!

Lovely Original Details:

• Villiers engine control levers and 98cc Villiers two stroke engine.

• Period front headlamp

• Rear wheel drum brakes

• A rather optimistic 0-60mph front-mounted speedo by Cowey

• Retains its unmolested patina throughout (though the utilitarian seat would certainly benefit from retirement and replacement).

Condition & Documentation:

• Currently a non-runner requiring a full mechanical overhaul.

• Please note: There is no documentation with the machine.

The Potential: With some vision, engineering, and fabrication, this is a prime candidate to convert into a fun, single-seater cyclecar-type machine—swapping the crank steering for a proper steering wheel and fitting a more appropriate cyclecar-inspired seat.
