Dating from c.1907. A rare Lea Francis gentlemans roadster bicycle. 

Before making cars, Lea Francis like many companies who went on to manufacture cars; started out in business manufacturing bicycles and Lea Francis were one of the top companies to produce the finest of bicycles. While Sunbeam were known as the Roll Royce of bicycles. Lea Francis held the reputation in England amongst its followers as the 'Kings' of bicycle manufacturing. They incorporated many unique features; including a movable steering lock, sprung loaded crank to lock the left crank for mounting the bicycle in a gentlemanly fashion. Other features include internal rod braking and fine details like the faux ivory gear knob, Lea Francis cast alloy pedals.

Sympathetically overhauled a number of years ago with a new leather saddle top with correct Brooks period embossing. It is a very imposing machine sitting on 28" wheels with a period BSA 3 speed gear and cream tyres, a very original Lucas King of the Road "SILVER KING' front oil lamp and a rear oil powered lamp also come with the bicycle. It is ready to enjoy.
